Hi There,
GIG LIZZY & FRANK WOOD presents: are having our first Sat. at RARE,
tonite, 3/1/3. In the heart of the meat district at (416 west 14th street,
b/w 9th ave & Washington street), the spaciousness of this venue allows
for us to put together the best of nyc's bands in a place where more people
can enjoy them. The sight lines are great, the sound is right, the drinks
are good and the staff is friendly as all hell(what a refreshing change
- owners who appreciate the bands, the music and the fans !) So come on
down this sat. and enjoy some great music.
We're gonna open with DEUCE AND A QUARTER a band with high rockin' energy
to get us started.
THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE stun , amaze , awaken and totally amuse everyone who
has ever seen them. With all 3 frontmen taking turns on the stand-up bass
on different songs, they produce some outstanding rock with a jazz tinge.
Followed by THE BAGHDADDIOS and their brand of in-your-face-we're-having-fun
rock'n'roll & they should have you up and moving in no time.
Then the best guitarist in NYC today, T.J. JORDAN, will bring his band
WOUNDED to the stage and watch the sparks fly as he wails away on his
guitar while JACK, RON and NICK keep pushing him on.
MARK RIVERS and his band RIVERCAT will then take us home with their rockin',
jammin', bluesy rock.
And in between sets : the Master and his iBook; "MAN ABOUT TOWN"
; and dj extraordinaire; that trepanning wizard - ROBERT LUND - will not
let you down as he produces magic out of his i-book.
It all adds up to an outrageous night of Rock'n'Roll ! It will get you
ready for next week. That's when the best band in NYC today, - BANANA
FISH ZERO - has their new cd release party at CONTINENTAL on March 7.
JOKER 5 SPEED , THIS and others will help with the festivities. So come
down and be at what will most assuredly be the sold-out event of the year,
so far.
See you soon.
Take care,
FRANK WOOD
