Hi All,
Lundo tells me not to mess with the computer, but do I listen? NOOOOO
! So what happens is I lose a bunch of stuff and wait for the Lundo calvary
to come over and undo the damage I have done. After 15 minutes everything
is back and even better than when I started my little experiment. No more
experiments !
THANK YOU to everybody who came out for the benefit on Sunday nite. It
was a HUGE success and one hell of a party. The crowd wouldn't let BANANA
FISH ZERO leave the stage. PRINCE HAL (of BFZ) put together a kickass
show. Starting with the SEX SLAVES, FLYING 66, DRAG CITIZEN and SUPERVILLIAN.
Then PRINCE HAL brought the MOTHER GODDESS herself, MAYA PRICE, to the
stage, hoisted high on his shoulders. She was followed by THOMMY PRICE's
SEX, DRUMS and ROCK'n'ROLL. Next up was PEELANDER-Z, who first brought
out of the audience about 8 people to join them on the stage to play their
assorted percussion instruments. Then their bass player KO gave his bass
to BLITCH (DRAG CITIZEN) and KENGO gave his guitar to JOHNNY LAW (BFZ)
to play while they dragged the guest of honor, ROGER (JOKER FIVE SPEED),
up on stage to play the drums while ANTONIO (drummer) & KO set up
a bowling alley in the middle of the CONTINENTAL. They then bowled a strike
using KENGO as a bowling ball. It was INSANE. (Don't miss PEELANDER-Z
on APRIL FOOLS DAY {4/1} at RARE. It promises to be even wilder as they
will be joined by THE SPUNKS, EGGPLANT QUEENS and DYNAMITE CLUB). PISSER
had to follow that and then came the FIRE GODS. That left the BAMBOO KIDS
to lead up to BANANA FISH ZERO. DJ extraordinaire "Man About Town"
ROBERT LUND kept the crowd busy during the band changes. It was a GREAT
nite of NYC rock'n'roll at it's best.
With this thursday (3/27) being the 1st ANNIVERSARY of NYC UNPLUGGED -
the core of nyc's best bands at the 169 BAR I will have a killer party
for everyone at the 169 BAR. MAD JUANA (who played on the opening nite
last year) will be joined by GASS WILD, JOHNNY ROCK and POCKET MONSTER.
There will be a few surprise performances by some good friends of ours
to help us celebrate and DJ extraordinaire "Man About Town"(he
didn't get that nickname for nothing as he has 2 other shows this week)
ROBERT LUND will fill in all the blank spaces. There will also be some
interesting drink specials, so come on down and join in the fun. It'll
be better than reading about it here later. The address is 169 EAST BROADWAY
at the corners of East Broadway and Essex, Rutgers and Canal streets.
That's all for now, I need some rest for a busy week of enjoying Life
During Wartime. Hope to see you soon.
Take care,
FRANK WOOD
