Hi All,

Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate the 1 year anniversary of "NYC UNPLUGGED - The Core of NYC's Best Bands" at the 169 BAR. You can read the review by MIGHTY AFRODITE on this web site.

This weekend started the smoking ban all over the city unless you jump thru alot of hoops. Well, if you know me well, you would know that: 1) I smoke cigars, 2) I don't like being told how I can or cannot kill myself, which leads to 3) I WILL find a loophole!

And I DID! The 169 BAR will be one of the FEW places where you can enjoy live music and STILL be able to SMOKE! We have a PATIO that is being set up to comply with the rules. I have expensive cigars and I will not let them go to waste.

As I mentioned before, I am no longer doing shows at MICKY's BLUE ROOM. The owner was not pleased with the turnouts on the nites I had, even though they were the worst set of Tuesdays, weather-wise in Feb. & March that I can remember.

Well now, the owners of RARE have taken away the last Tuesday of each month for the same reason. They were trying to take away my weekend nite, but I got a reprieve (temporarily). I'm competing against promoters who bring in DJ's wtih house and dance music. I thought they wanted music. Other live music promoters I know are facing similar situations. I know the economy sucks and there is a war going on, but hey, this is NYC and we've overcome everything else. So we promoters are trying to keep live music alive in this city, but if people don't come out, it's only a matter of time before they turn this city into a homogenized suburb. I know I don't want it. So get out there and show some support for the live music scene (it doesn't have to be my shows - just go to something LIVE!). That's one of the reasons I list more than just my shows on those e-mails. We've got to support these live venues or they will eventually all disappear.

I had some pins made up, but they were gone in 3-1/2 days. I'll be getting more soon. If you want your own pins made, contact me and I'll put you in contact with the right people where you can get 100 for $20!

This year FRANK WOOD PRESENTS and BANANA FISH ZERO are going to have a float in the CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE on June 21. I'm looking for someone who can possibly make a flag of my logo that we can fly from our float. If you're interested, contact me asap. Thank you!
