July 16, 2003

Hi All,

THIS WEDNESDAY, JULY 16 we will be having a SNEAK PEEK at our NEW VENUE - THE CAT BAR in the infamous PUSSYCAT LOUNGE (96 Greenwich st, c/o Rector st, 2 blocks south of GROUND ZERO) from 7pm til 9pm.

Our most gracious host has just installed a MACKIE sound board with a bunch of EV speakers. They will be complimented by a 5 piece IMPERIAL drum set, a MARSHALL 4x12 cabinet, a Kustom 4x12 cabinet and a Mesa-Boogie bass cabinet (I could be wrong on the spellings). Hell, we even have 2 new guitars, just in case. All people have to bring are their heads.

So I decided, what the f... (some people's computers don't get the message if it's spelled out), LET'S TEST IT and see how they work. (I wanna make sure there are no surprises on opening nite!) So that's what we're gonna do this weds. 7/16/03 around 7pm til 9pm. If you're not doing anything, come on down and check out the new digs. If you bring your axes and/or sticks, you can help us see if it's all up to par. If it isn't, hey, any help to make it better would be appreciated. Then later we'll head over to DON HILL's and check out BITCH NITE!

I will be booking THE CAT BAR on the second floor of the PUSSYCAT LOUNGE every SATURDAY, starting on JULY 26, 2003. But wait, there's more. Starting around the 3rd week of AUGUST, I'll start booking BLUES acts on Mondays; JAZZ acts on Tuesdays; ROCK acts on Wednesdays and LATIN acts on Thursdays. AND on the 1st Saturday of every month we will be having a countryrock/rockabilly nite with 3 good ole bands, followed by HOOTERNANNY SATURDAY NITE (think BITCH NITE, only with a countryrock/rockabilly flair). That's right, I've already lined up some of nyc's best female vocalists to get down with a twang! You'd never see these ladies sing this stuff with their own bands, but backed up by THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE (you've heard LUNDO play these guys doing IRON MAN in a way you never quite envisioned) these gals are gonna give you a treat. It's all gonna be about having some fun & I'm pretty sure everyone - singers, musicians, fans and anyone else in the vicinity - are gonna have a kickass good ole time! (Wait til you see who they are, but that's for later.)

Of course, knowing me, RULES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN! But basically that's the idea we're working with.

If anyone has a band that fits any of these categories, PLEASE, LET ME KNOW! I'm also gonna be needing DJ's (LUNDO can't always be there, after all, he is the "MAN ABOUT TOWN"), bartenders, hostesses, and probably sound men and whatever else may come to mind.

That brings me to another topic. As you can see, I'm starting to get a little busy. So,

HELP WANTED!

I'm gonna need an assistant. Ryota and I can't do it all. What I'm looking for is someone with computer skills, who's reliable and responsible. (Did I say that? Yes I did!) Someone who can hang out at some of the best clubs in the city, listening to some of the best bands around and maybe even become a permanent part of our little (it won't be little for long) adventure. There are also a bunch of percs (too many to mention). So, if you think you'd like to give this a try, contact me at: mrfwood@yahoo.com

BAND AUDITIONS

There will be auditions for female singers and musicians to be part of a traveling CAT BAR/PUSSYCAT LOUNGE rock'n'roll band. It will be held on Wednesdays 7/16/03 and 7/23/03 at the CAT BAR, upstairs at the PUSSYCAT LOUNGE starting at 5pm. So if making music, traveling and having fun are up your alley, COME ON DOWN and give it a shot!

OPENING NITE GUEST LIST

The requests are starting already. Mark your calendar for SATURDAY, JULY 26, when the FISHERMAN will lead off the evening with some old-fashioned, classy, stylish BURLESQUE at 8pm, followed by FREE FOOD and a 2 HOUR OPEN BAR at 10pm. To GUARANTEE your admittance, you should e-mail me and I'll put you on the list. It's gonna be wild, and I won't be anywhere near the door to be my usual helpful self. DON'T DELAY, get on the list.

I'm gonna rest for this weekend, because I know there will be no rest time once this starts.

LET"S HAVE SOME FUN!

Hope to see you soon.

Take care,

FRANK WOOD
