Hi All,

We all know what today is.

Two years ago some people didn't like the way their lives were going, so instead of doing something positive to help themselves, they went the negative route, and murdered innocent people, among them, some of our friends and neighbors. Now those of you who know me, know that I am sometimes prone to react in an extreme manner to certain stimuli. But it is always directed at the person or persons who created the stimuli, NOT their friends, NOT their relatives, NOT innocent people, just because I couldn't get the ones who deserved it. It was, and is (in my opinion), the act of COWARDS to lash out at innocent bystanders - whether it be a drive-by shooting or a suicide bombing of innocent people - IT IS THE ACT OF A COWARD!

I feel the best way to deal with these COWARDS is to continue to live our lives. Tonite we will do just that. At CBGB's, CB's GALLERY and CB's DOWNSTAIRS LOUNGE our good friend HILLY will allow us to do something POSITIVE to honor the victims and do something positive for loved ones left behind.

WE WILL ROCK!

It's what we do. And we will do it LOUD and we will do it BIG!

50 BANDS on 3 STAGES!

Some of the BEST ROCK'n'ROLL bands NYC has to offer WILL honor our lost friends, relatives and neighbors with what we do best: WE WILL ROCK.

There will be some big names and some names you may not have heard of, yet. Shit some you may never hear from some of them ever again, BUT they WILL PLAY and PLAY HARD. There will be NO EGOS. NO PETTY SQUABBLES. NO BULLSHIT! JUST ROCKIN' as best we can to honor those who are no longer here and attempt to help those they left behind.

I could list all the names of the bands, but you can get them at the CBGB website or the calendar on my website at Sept. 11th. But it doesn't matter who's playing. What matters is that we will show the world that they CANNOT DESTROY what we have here. IT IS ROCK'n'ROLL! Born in rebellion and rage and the belief that we can make the world better through communication.

Sure, there are a lot of things fucked up with our country, but you wouldn't even be able to get this message in many countries around the world. (Think Infinity Broadcasting on a large scale). You may not agree with me, but at least you're able to know what you aren't agreeing with. That doesn't happen in a lot of places around the world. Misery loves company.

I'm sorry for going off like this, but it's better to do something positive. Like making Lemonade out of lemons.

So come out for a GREAT cause, starting at 7 PM. You don't have to stay all night. Just come out and show your support for the families of those who lost their lives just because they showed up for work.

2 years ago I was writing a column for a webpage that no longer exists. Hey, that's AMERICA! Websites come and they go, but you at least get the chance to decide whether or not you want to like it or not. Check out what I wrote then at news/stemway/09_11_01.htm.
