Hi ALL,

Oh well, that's it. Summer flew by, again. It feels like just yesterday that we had the MERMAID PARADE in June, then JOHN LAW's party upstate in July. The NY DOLLS reunion at Randall's Island combined with the wedding of KARMEN & SAMI (from MAD JUANA) was a highlight, but where were the summer days? Thankfully there weren't many stifling HOT days & it wasn't like last summer's monsoons. The RNC turned our city into a ghost town/nazi state for about a week, then all of a sudden - it was the WHITE TRASH BBQ party movie premiere at OTTO's followed by the WEST INDIAN DAY PARADE.

Now it's time to remember the people who risk their lives everyday to make things seem normal around here. This Saturday is the 3rd anniversary of one of the saddest days many of us have ever lived to remember, 9/11. (Of course, I'm assuming that Lundo, Morris, Alan and myself are amongst the oldest who read this.) At that time I was writing for a website on my observations of life in NYC, reporting on the nitelife and things that happened herein. Anyway, this Saturday I will be staging 2 shows to show our support for The New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund. One show will be at THE PUSSYCAT LOUNGE (which was covered in dirt and human remains and was a resting place for many of the people who were trying to find anyone who may have been alive along with the recovery of ... You know what they did there). There will be 12 bands and free food there. The other show will be at UNION POOL in Brooklyn, with over 15 bands and some special guests. There's a smoking patio and there will be a BBQ to help raise some more funds. ANYONE who goes to one show, can get into the other one for free. So come on out and help us honor the people who the mayor refuses to pay what they are worth.
