Hi ALL,

This newsletter will have 3 parts:

  • The first part is an IMPORTANT message for all BANDS & CLUBS;
  • The second part will be a recap of the 12 DAYS OF WOOD: and
  • The third part will be upcoming shows.

First off, this is a VERY IMPORTANT note for all BANDS & CLUBS. If you are in a band or are affiliated with a club, please REPLY to this e-mail. I have just moved and changed phone numbers, again. I've also mixed up my regular addresses with my business addresses. I have some new developments coming up and I need to speak with all bands and club people ASAP. So please reply to this and give me your phone number and I'll fill you in on what I have planned for the NEW YEAR. Thank you.

Secondly, I would love to THANK everyone who helped make the 12 DAYS OF WOOD a fun time for all. Especially JESSICA CARMEN. JESSICA was at 11 of the 12 DAYS... She was helping out with the videotaping of the shows. She has a company that will make tapes, DVD's or even put it on your website, of the shows for any of the bands that want them. Contact me and I'll forward your info to her. This she did even though she plays bass in 7 different bands and played at the NY Marathon. Her still photos will be coming to the website soon. THANK YOU JESSICA!

Also ALAN RAND, for making the birthday card/comic book for the 12 DAYS... He also was at most of the shows and took alot of pictures. Most of which are on this website already here. THANK YOU ALAN!

The club owners, managers and promoters who allowed me to do shows at their clubs: STEVE PANG at OTTO's (3 shows), ROBERT at the PUSSYCAT LOUNGE (2 shows), JESSIE at GRAND CENTRAL (2 shows), DON HILL & STEVE BLUSH at DON HILL's, TRIGGER at CONTINENTAL, JULES at the C-NOTE, CHRIS, STEVE & GWEN at the CUTTING ROOM and CHANCE, TAMMY & KAIZA at BOOGALOO. THANK ALL OF YOU!

And of course all of the performers who participated and helped out.

At the CUTTING ROOM, the JANA PERI BAND started it all off followed by RAWSON, THE PAST and CATHERINE STREET (these guys packed the place with beautiful women).

At the first GRAND CENTRAL show we also had an art opening with SAMM COHEN showing her work (it will be on display for the month of NOVEMBER, come check it out). The DROSSELLS started the nite (JESSICA won the pool on how long it would take BURNIE to set up). SAID SADLY came from Pa. and somehow I managed to fit ALL of LEWD BUDDHA on or close to the stage. TEMPTRESS performed one of their best shows in awhile (JESSICA played bass for them).

The PUSSYCAT LOUNGE hosted 2 shows also the first one started off with SONOROUS from Arizona then the BAGHDADDIOS (with JESSICA on bass), followed by BITTERWEED, then the HEATHER LARKIN BAND (with JESSICA on bass, again, and JONESY on guitar). JONESY's band F.P. TOZ (which was celebrating lead singer FUZZIE DANNY WUHZIE's birthday) led into THE COLLISSIONS from Mass., with the VAPOURS capping off the nite (it was their drummer RICH's birthday also).

The next nite at the PUSSYCAT LOUNGE was a rock-a-billy/country nite with a little extra. First there was the country stylings of LORI BEHRMAN & the APPLIANCES, followed by THE ROCKIN' 69s. These guys almost didn't get in the club because they weren't 21. They were allowed to come in, play and leave. I'm sorry boys, blame the gov't. I had heard their CD and they didn't sound that young. The DEVIL SPADES followed and we were supposed to do the HOOTERNANNY. It took on a new meaning with the performance of EROCKTICA (formerly PORN ROCK). They put on a surprise warm-up for their European tour. They tell me you can get away with more in Europe than you can here. Well, I don't know how much more there can possibly be, because on review of the video, the camera was smokin' HOT!

Then came the first of 3 shows at OTTO's. JONES CRUSHER opened the nite, followed by the DISRUPTORS. JOHNNY THURSDAY & the FRIDAY KNIGHTS took some time off from the studio to come out and rock the place. The FAKES then came on and started their residency (They're at OTTO's every sunday this month). Next, SHOT celebrated the birthday of their bass player and were followed by THE LOVE PIRATES (GASS WILD, ANDROID & the rest). Then came the highlight of the 12 DAYS... LENNY KAYE! He was celebrating the 40th anniversary of his first band in college. He rocked us with some originals and some covers, then he asked SAMI YAFFA (MAD JUANA, HANOI ROCKS and, oh yeah, NEW YORK DOLLS!) to join him. We didn't have an electric bass in the house but I got SAMI to play an UPRIGHT BASS! (Thank you to the boys from SONOROUS for letting SAMI use your bass). TONY WOLFMAN (from MAD JUANA & SHEWOLVES) joined them on drums until we dragged BILLY FICCA (from TELEVISION and LACH & the SECRETS) to join LENNY & SAMI. WHAT A SHOW! ZACK MILLER followed as did SONOROUS.

On Monday it was back to OTTO's for BOMBSHELL, THE FAKES and THE FISHERMAN TRIO, with SMITTY ON STEEL b/w the bands.

Tuesday brought us to the C-NOTE where BOBBY STEELE (MISFITS, UNDEAD) led off the evening. BLACK FLAMINGO was next and they had a film crew that was documenting MOMS WHO ROCK. LISA LUDWIG certainly qualifies there. The NYC BLUES DEVILS put a jazzy feel on the night and they were followed by the return of THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE. Then T.J. JORDAN & RON RESIGNO (both from WOUNDED) led ACESEX (ACoustic EStrogen EXtravaganza) with SWEET AMI, MARY BATH, JENNIFER, SHARI. and PAM the METAL QUEEN doing 2 songs each. YUNA only did one song 'cause she lost her voice. And of course JAMEELA belly-danced for 2 songs while the boys played rock'n'roll.

Day 8 was at DON HILL's. YOWZA led off the nite followed by NUMBER TWELVE (watch for these gals, they're moving up strong!). JON LENNON & the RESISTANTS were next and there was SAMI YAFFA again on bass again (electric this time). THE NEW PROFESSIONALS kicked butt as usual. KAREN CURIOUS' songs are so good... The DEEP END played next even though their van and all their equipment was stolen just a few days earlier.

Now it was officially my birthday and we celebrated at GRAND CENTRAL BAR. PRETTY SUICIDE started the night and lead into WOUNDED. GIRL ON TOP came from Boston and helped ALAN with the cake part. It was unexpected, but the owner of the biggest club in TOKYO came, gave me a bottle of expensive champagne and thanked me for the SEX SLAVES and then said he wanted more NYC ROCK 'n' ROLL. I told him NO PROBLEM! We finished up with a "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM (a few days late) featuring JONESY, MAD ANTHONY and KENN (he played this guitar that only had 5 of 6 strings of which only 3 held a tune.

Friday was the CONTINENTAL and TRIGGER was a gracious host. Starting with UGLY FRIEND, then SUPERMODEL TRUCKSTOP the rockin' was hard from the start. Next up the SMACK DARTS rocked despite breaking a string on the introduction. GINA (former LUNACHICK) was with her band BANTAM to lead into the PREMIER of the new BANANA FISH ZERO video. It was hilarious. (It will be shown again at a little video thing I'm gonna do, soon). BANANA FISH ZERO then followed with a raucous set (as usual)! MACKIN then closed out the nite.

Saturday brought us to a new place, BOOGALOO. SHROOM (from Japan) warmed up the crowd then the funk of DA PHAT FUNK CLIQUE got them up and dancing. The rock 'n' roll of MURDERIZER kept the crowd going, and despite some technical difficulties, TEEDO struggled thru. Then ELWOOD and HIS FRIENDS proceeded to jam out for 2 long sets. I want to thank ELWOOD for supplying the backline for the evening. It was also the GANDOLFI TWINS' birthday so we continued until around 7:30am with CHRISTINE from ALOWICIOUS DJing.

Finally DAY 12 arrived and not a day too soon. SKEEVOTZ led off the evening followed by the PALE IMITATIONS with RON doing double duty on guitar for both bands. BITTERWEED was next followed by the HASH BROWN, those are the names of the bands not what we ingested. ROOTS ROCK REBEL rocked out as usual the we had the debut of SWEET AMI & CUPCAKE. They are putting a band together and from the sound of the songs they're gonna be awesome. BOB D. from PETRO was next followed by PHIL MECAUGH and MR. SMITH. MR. SMITH got so wasted that he left his guitar behind, oh, and PHIL too. We ended it all with the "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM led by JONESY, JESSICA and arriving late, KENN.

On Monday, I slept, ate and went back to sleep!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out and had fun with us. Next year I'll be 50, hmmmm, what will I do?
