Sorry I haven't been sending my weekly e-mails, but I screwed up something on my computer and I can't get to my address book. If you know anyone who knows Macs send them to me. In the meantime, I'll do updates on the website here. So tell your friends if they want they can check out what's coming up, not only in NYC but around the country also, as I start to expand.
As many of you know, I have moved down to Florida temporarily, in an attempt to spread NYC Rock 'n' Roll. I still have shows in NYC - Thurs. at GRAND CENTRAL BAR in B'klyn with guest hosts NICK & LARRY; and Sun. at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD with guest host JONESY. I am doing the booking on Thurs. and Jonesy and I are doing the booking on Sun. This week at GRAND will be SPAGHETTI EASTERN MUSIC, ZED NEVER and the smooth jazz of SUPER #7. On Sun. at OTTO's we have FOOD WILL WIN THE WAR, HOG HUG, ANIMALLINK, & F.P.TOZ. At 11 the traditional Greek stylings of MAGGES returns, followed by DAVE ANDREK.
I now have the ball rolling as far as getting some bands on the road.
This Sat. THE NEW PROFESSIONALS will lead the new FRANK WOOD presents: EAST COAST TOUR. They'll be playing at the SADDLE RIDGE SALOON in HAMPTON, VIRGINIA at 9:30 PM. As if that wasn't enough, they insisted so they will also play at the TAPHOUSE GRILL in NORFOLK, VIRGINIA later that night at 12:30 AM. So why not take a quick little road trip and see one of NYC's best bands tear up the beach in Virginia. I hear hotel rooms are only about 40-50 bucks a night. If you want e-mail me and I'll hook it up for you. Call any friends you have down there and tell them this is their chance to listen to what we hear all the time.
This is just the beginning; over the next few months I will be bringing bands like HONOR AMONG THIEVES, NOVA CLUTCH, THE NEW PROFESSIONALS (again) SEX SLAVES and JOKER FIVE SPEED, to name a few, down to FORT LAUDERDALE and MIAMI with stops along the way in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Orlando, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Kentucky and Tennessee. There will also be bands headed north like HAGUS MAGAGUS (FL), VIVID (New Orleans), ASH WEDNESDAY (KY), CONCRETE SKY (VA), and many more.
I'll try and keep this updated every week, so check in and tell your friends that we are spreading GREAT ROCK'n'ROLL all over this country, and eventually all over the world.
If you plan on being in any of the cities where shows are gonna be, let me know and I'll try to get you a discount, if not free pass.
In the meantime, it's a scorching 92 degrees here in Fort Lauderdale, so I think I'll head out on the boat and hit a few bars.
I will be back in NYC from 8/11 to 8/16 and I'll run a few shows while I'm back. So come by and say hello.
