Hi All,

It gets boring down here in Florida. Everyday it's the same thing - 90's, sun, heat, thunderstorms, more heat, then it cools down to the 80's at night. At least I know I have some serious rock headed in my direction.

The EAST COAST TOURS kicked off this past weekend with a mini-tour by the NEW PROFESSIONALS. After a miserable ride thru rain and hell, KAREN CURIOUS and her band knocked them for a loop in not one, but two different bars on the Virgina shore IN ONE NIGHT!

They want more but they'll have to wait a few weeks before the next NYC band comes to town. The tours will be called:

FRANK WOOD presents:
ORIGINAL ROCK'n'ROLL
The Way It Was,
The Way It Is,
The Way It Should and WILL BE!

But I haven't forgotten NYC. When she comes back from her tour at the end of AUGUST KAREN CURIOUS will be the new GUEST HOST at GRAND CENTRAL BAR in Brooklyn on Thursday nites. She will handle all the bookings, and I'll be throwing in a few bands here and there.

As for this Thursday, NICK & LARRY will be the guest hosts as RENTED MULE makes their return to Brooklyn at the GRAND CENTRAL BAR, along with DOG SHOW and F.P.TOZ. On Saturday at GRAND CENTRAL BAR THE SQUIRRELLS FROM HELL will be joining Guest Host ELWOOD and his BIG DADDY's RHYTHM REVIEW. That's always a wild time as you never know who ELWOOD will be bringing with him to spice up the night. His friends are among some of the best musicians in town. Then Sunday get down to OTTO's and see the return of BIG ED from Conn. along with BELT and FURNITURE. You know, I miss PAM THE METAL QUEEN's German Chocolate Cake's down here. I try to teach them, but it's not the same. That will have to be one of my first stops when I get back to NYC on 8/11. So get out and enjoy and support the live music scene that you have in NYC.

In the meantime, I was graced this past weekend with the presence of our favorite media mogul, LUCKY LAWLER (NY WASTE) and her family, who came to South Florida for a little fun & sun. We went down to TOBACCO ROAD in Miami and were greeted by the SEX SLAVES playing over the house sound system, followed by the NEW PROFESSIONALS. Cosmos, who runs sound down there, is an old alumnus of CBGB's from the old days, way back in the beginning. He's got a kick-ass room with a great sound system where our bands will be playing shortly. Then after a night of carousing on the boat, we spent all of Sat. on the beach in South Beach. There's this club right on the beach with waiter service and 4-post beds alongside old-style tee-pees. Steve couldn't get enough of the bathtub-warm water of the beach, and his daughter and her friend had a great time boy-watching. Then it was off to the downtown bar district of Fort Lauderdale (there are over 40 bars in a 10-block radius), and another club, THE POOR HOUSE, where the SEX SLAVES greeted us on the sound system as we walked in. The rest of the country is dying to hear some of that great rock'n'roll that we hear all the time in NYC.

Oh well, gotta go. Another friend from NYC is down visiting, Lisa from BLACK FLAMINGO. We'll have to figure out how to work the GOD's LOVE WE DELIVER show next year.

Have fun and don't forget to go out and support your favorite bands as often as possible.

Take care,

WOOD
