Hi All,

Just got back down to Florida after a wild and wooley weekend in the NYC area.

Starting on Thursday I missed my plane from Florida because I fell asleep in the terminal and woke up to find it gone. I managed to get on another flight that was only 2 hours away. The show that nite at GRAND CENTRAL was awesome. T.J., KAOS FROM ORDER et al were on target.

Friday I caught up with ROBERT LUND and we headed for JOHN LAW's house for the big show on Saturday. Lundo forgot to put in his contacts so we missed a deer and 1 raccoon, but we hit another raccoon and a dead skunk. This while we went out of the way by an hour and half to look for Lundo's nephew at some bible camp. We didn't find him because he went to NYC to look for us.

Saturday started sunny and beautiful. The radio said there might be some chance of rain, so we went out and bought a tarp (40'x80'). It covered the stage and over 1/2 of the field. We figured if it didn't rain at least no one would get heat stroke. 15 minutes before show time, out of nowhere, came a torrential downpour with lightning, thunder and heavy winds. The tarp lasted about 20 minutes before it was torn to shreds. We managed to save the equipment and decided to move the show into the house. That's when a tree hit our powerline and cut off ALL power to the mountain. So we had a REAL unplugged show. KAREN CURIOUS was outstanding, as were JOHN LAW & CHRIS CUPCAKE (THE X's), GIG LIZZY and others. But the highlight was the reunification of BANANA FISH ZERO for 1 nite only. Someone got an acoustic bass for PRINCE HAL, JOHN LAW had his acoustic guitar, and TEXAS insisted on playing someone's guitar case and whatever was on the table in front of him. It was a magic moment.

The rain had turned the campground area into a sea of fools: tents flying around (some with people in them), tents filling with water and much, much more. It was great fun despite it all.

On Sunday nite it was back to NYC and a show at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD. KAREN CURIOUS and THE NEW PROFESSIONALS stole the show, but all the bands kicked ass. Even though the rain managed to get thru 5 floors all the way to the bar (there were at least 8 leak buckets set up to catch the rain). The place was packed and everyone had a great time.

I want to thank everyone who came out to all the shows. It was great seeing everyone again. I'll be back for the 6 DAYS OF WOOD in November to celebrate my 50th birthday.

In the meantime, this week at GRAND CENTRAL the Guest Hosts will be KAREN CURIOUS and KENN ROWELL, and Sunday at OTTO's will feature the psychobilly of the VAN ARSDALES.

NOVA CLUTCH will be coming down for a series of shows along the east coast this week, from Virginia to South Florida.

Well that's it for now. Check the calendar for upcoming shows.

Hope to see you soon.

Take care,

WOOD
