Hi There,

Well it was a wild weekend down here in South Florida. Hurricane Katrina knocked out THE NEW PROFESSIONALS show at the POOR HOUSE in Fort Lauderdale and SLUNT's show at CHEERS (also Fort Lauderdale). I went to CHEERS anyway. The electricity had been knocked out but the bartender hooked up his car to run some lights and the cash register. Ther were about 20 of us getting wasted in what is known as a Hurricane Party.

Friday things were back to normal. THE NEW PROFESSIONALS arrived and took North Miami Beach by storm. Afterward we headed for South Beach, where MTV was having their party. Then Sunday they headed up to ORLANDO where, again, they were the best thing these people have seen in a while. Then it was back to SOUTH BEACH for two more kick-ass shows.

That leaves me with 1/2 a day to prepare for the arrival of the SEX SLAVES in South Florida. Hurricane Katrina messed with them, too. They got cancelled in New Orleans because of it.

This Thursday the rejuvenation of GRAND WOOD THURSDAYS at GRAND CENTRAL BAR continues with COUNTERFEIT MOLLY from Virginia along with local bands OBJECT and THE KANE BROTHERS. Your hosts are KENN & MARY BETH. They are also doing some of the bookings along with myself.

On Sunday COUNTERFEIT MOLLY will still be in town at OTTO's, along with ACOUSTIC TRAUMA and THE EMBRACING. That's Stephanie's band. She's the bartender at GRAND CENTRAL BAR on Thursdays. To cap off a Labor Day Sunday will be the traditional Greek music of MAGGES. If you want to book a Sunday show either contact me or KAREN CURIOUS.

That's all for now. Enjoy the 3-day weekend. I can't believe summer's over already. Actually down here, it's never over. It's all vacation weather all the time. If you have a band and want to tour, let me know and maybe we can work it out.

In the meantime keep supporting your favorite bands by going out and seeing them LIVE!

Take care,

WOOD
