Hi All,
I caught the first part of the BOB DYLAN doc NO DIRECTION HOME by Martin Scorcese and it was AWESOME! If you get a chance see this, you won't be disappointed.
Everything down here is going smoothly. In the next month JOKER FIVE SPEED and THE NEW YORK DOLLS will be down here from NYC, and CANDY FROM STRANGERS will be here from California doing the FRANK WOOD east coast tour.
Last week the rock continued to be good at GRAND CENTRAL BAR. This week on Thursday MARY BETH and KENN ROWELL will have some more hot rock'n'roll.
Starting this Saturday from now on there will be new hosts for GRAND CENTRAL BAR. ELWOOD and his BIG DADDY's RHYTHM REVIEW will be taking a break. ELWOOD has family and stuff in Louisiana and he has some personal things to take care of. The new hosts will be KENN ROWELL and MARY BETH. That's right, the people who have turned around Thursday nites will now expand to Saturday also. This Saturday, from Florida will be TERESO (hot latin-tinged rock in Santana-style) and also the CD release party for SWAMP MUD. These guys, led by guitarist EDDIE LEE PRIEST, will have you up and boogieing all night long. Go down and join the celebration.
On Sunday, Karen Curious will be in early (6 PM) to start the show, with a party after 9 PM featuring THE FISHERMAN TRIO (who usually play on Monday nites rocking the place).
I will be down here putting the finishing touches on what's looking to be an outrageous party in November - THE 6 DAYS OF WOOD. Go to the calendar page to see the incredible line-ups.
