October 5, 2005

Hi ALL,

On October 4, 2005, I just celebrated the 31st anniversary of DESTINY SERVICES LTD. That is the company I set up when I did my first show back in college. It was a college mixer at St. Francis College (where I was a student) and the band was THE DAVIS-RYDER BAND (JOY RYDER and AVIS DAVIS). It was a funky style of punk that no one else was doing.

Back to the present. Last week the band TERESO went up to NYC from MIAMI and rocked out two different FRANK WOOD presents shows. Not only am I bringing bands south, but I'm also sending them north as well.

This Thursday will have another rockin' night at the GRAND CENTRAL. MARY BETH has been doing an awesome job of finding some kick-ass bands for the GRAND CENTRAL. On Saturday THE BAGHDADDIOS make their return to GRAND CENTRAL along with some special surprise guests. And I hear the BBQ chicken has been so good lately that it keeps running out. I've been assured that that won't be the case this weekend.

On Sunday, KAREN CURIOUS will be hosting WIND DOWN SUNDAY at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD with the band-in-residence for the month, UGLY FRIEND, and others taking the stage of the best Tiki Bar in NYC.

Speaking of Tiki Bars, this weekend here in Florida is the HULIKAI, which is a big party of all things tiki. Hmmmm, I just may be able to get a GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE like they make at OTTO's.

THE 6 DAYS OF WOOD in November are shaping up nicely, with the venues being: THE C-NOTE (11/8), LILLIE's in B'klyn (11/9), TRASH (11/10), the CONTINENTAL (11/11-my birthday), GRAND CENTRAL (11/12) and, of course, OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD (11/13). These are gonna be some great shows with some surprise unannounced guests all week long. Try not to miss it.

That's all for now. Remember to keep supporting your favorite bands by going to see them live, while you still can.

Take care,

WOOD
