Hi All,

The sun finally came out after hiding for about 10 days down here. We celebrated by taking out the boat and catching some speed boat races. WOW! Those things are FAST! On TV they look fast but, up close, you can feel how fast they really are. And LOUD! You couldn't even hear me talk. That's LOUD!

This week JOKER FIVE SPEED arrives in South Florida to do a bunch of shows. THANK GOD! Only a few of the bands down here even come close to what I've been spoiled by. NYC has the best bands anywhere! All the bands that I've been booking, up and down the east coast, have been getting rave reviews. The rest of the country can't wait to get more.

Meanwhile, last Thursday at GRAND CENTRAL BAR was another great night and this Thursday will be even better, led by LOVEWHIP from Massachusetts. MARY BETH keeps finding some real good bands for Thursday and Saturday nites.

On Saturday CANDY FROM STRANGERS, from San Francisco, will stop by the GRAND CENTRAL BAR as part of their annual cross-country tour. Some of you may remember them. They usually pass thru NYC around this time every year and they never fail to kick ass! When they finish with NYC I will be bringing them down to South Florida with stops along the way. Catch them while they're in town.

On Sunday, UGLY FRIEND will continue their residency at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD for the month of October, and they'll be joined by THE ETHAN KELLER GROUP from Milwaukee and others. KAREN CURIOUS will also have some special guests for you to make it a real nice WIND DOWN SUNDAY.

THE 6 DAYS OF WOOD are approaching and the line-ups are still being tweaked. Check the calendar on the site to see the latest additions. The SEX SLAVES have told me that all shows they will be playing during that week will be part of THE 6 DAYS OF WOOD. So Kansas and the midwest will get a taste of WOOD!

I'm looking forward to November, because as nice as Florida is, it isn't NYC!

So get out there and support your favorite bands and patronize the clubs that book them. Remember, you could live somewhere where the music isn't as good or as much.

Take care,

WOOD
