HI ALL,

Well, JOKER FIVE SPEED has arrived in South Florida and has taken it by storm. The body count is still rising.

Between the bedding and the brawling, it was a WILD weekend. Sorry to say, I missed out on the brawling. They dropped me off and continued on. Needless to say they are currently banned from playing in one club for life.

Last week's shows at GRAND CENTRAL were off the chart. CANDY FROM STRANGERS and COOL HAND COLLECTIVE rocked the place out Saturday. This week, on Thursday we have the return of OBJECT. They had the place bursting at the seams last month and they're coming back to give you more.

Sunday's show at OTTO's was a little bizarre, but I think we have a new band to team up with VULGARAS - INFINTY SS. Some people couldn't handle the veracity of this performance piece. This Sunday at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD we are having an INDIEGRRL show to benefit the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Led by BLACK FLAMINGO it promises to be a GREAT show and for a worthwhile cause. Stop by and lend a hand for people who really need it.

Speaking of Hurricanes, they tell me we have another one coming on Friday or Saturday. Hopefully it will be gone before CANDY FROM STRANGERS get here next week.

Last night I caught THE ROLLING STONES down in MIAMI and next week the man who was once called "the poor man's Mick Jagger" DAVID JOHANSEN and the rest of the NEW YORK DOLLS will be here in South Florida. It'll be nice to see old friends like SAMI YAFFA (the DOLLS' new bass player) and Sylvain Sylvain again.

It is less than 3 weeks before my return to NYC to celebrate my 50th birthday with THE 6 DAYS OF WOOD. It promises to be a wild week with over 40 bands from 3 different continents helping with the celebration. Maybe this year someone besides me will make it to all the shows. Last year 1 person came close. Amazing how the fat little old guy (me) does it. Come see it it while you can.

See you soon.

Take care,

WOOD
