Hi ALL,

Three-day weekends are always fun, even when I have to be in work anyway (my union traded off MLK. Jr's birthday for our own).

We had an awesome show at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD. We started off the night with the rockabilly sounds of CATSPAW and followed with the rockin' drumming of SAMMI and her band FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS.

Our band in residence for the month of January, BETTIE AFTER MIDNIGHT, was next as they proceeded to polish up their set in preparation for their East Coast Tour. SELF HUMAN followed with a funky set that brought out a big crowd.

Then it started to get really wild as MAGGES did their traditional GREEK music with special guests AMALIA (MAD JUANA) on viola and JAMEELA the belly dancer.

JOHN LAW (THE X's, BFZ) followed them with an upbeat unplugged set. Then the highlight of the evening - LENNY KAYE. LENNY always does a fun off the cuff set and this was no different. For his finale - GLORIA - he had JOHN LAW playing bass and SAMMI playing drums. Then it was time for BLONDE & BLUE, who had the crowd mesmerized. Then we had ARRINGTON on the bagpipes (that's right, BAGPIPES!)

Then Ken and phil from the Baghdaddios finished off the nite. I'm exhausted.

Take care,

WOOD
