Hi All,

This past Saturday I helped out some friends (MORGAN & RICK of SUPERVILLAIN) by working the door for their new show they will be doing once a month at THE DELANCEY BAR called DIRTY BOMB. It was a great show with NIKKI KANE guest DJing before Morgan & Rick took turns after the band and the girls (singing and go-go dancing). Can't wait till next month's show.

Sunday's show at OTTO's was a blast as usual. The weather didn't deter many people from coming out and having a good time. With COUNTRY JOE & THE OUTLAW BAND leading off the night followed by EL JEFE vs DEMONS and a new band from North Carolina - SHILOH. These guys are real good and it was their first show in NYC. They stayed all night and are planning on coming back in the future.

Then the girls from BETTIE AFTER MIDNIGHT came on and finished their month-long residency. They put on an awesome show and even broke out a few new songs. The idea of the residency is designed so that bands can play together in front of people instead of in the studio. This way they develop stage presence and get tighter as a group. Also the residency takes on the feel of home, so that by the end of the month, everything is clicking on all cylinders.

CENTER OF ZERO followed and led into BLONDE & BLUE. The live portion of the night ended with THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM. This week it was KEN ROWELL (BAGHDADIOS) with DAVE and JOHN (CENTER OF ZERO) on drums and bass. These guys really clicked considering that Ken met them right before they went on stage to play. It was what the "SOFA KING" is all about.

I'm still looking for more bands to play the new place in Brooklyn (BROOKLYN WRECK ROOM) for March and beyond, so contact me if you know of any good bands.

This Sunday at OTTO's it will be the ANTI-SUPERBOWL party. That's right set your Tivo or VCR to record it, because everyone knows the best part of the Super Bowl are the commercials! Then come on over to OTTO's and enjoy the TIKI VIBE. This week we will have THE BAGHDADDIOS, KADAFI, and PROGRESSIVE DEMENTIA leading up to our once a month traditional GREEK music of MAGGES. They will be joined by the beautiful JAMEELA doing her bellydancing while the rest of us devour the OUZO! OPA!

BLONDE & BLUE will follow and then ACID RAYZ will get one last set in before their show next week at the CONTINENTAL. I'll tell you about that next week.
