Hi All,

Friday nite was our 1st show at THE WRECK ROOM in Bushwick, Brooklyn and it was an amazing success (check out photos by GLENN WERNIG of NY Waste!). It was cold and windy but that didn't stop the crowds from coming out to see ALIEN CANOPY, BITTERWEED (in their last performance as a group), DRAG CITIZEN, DIRTY DICK and ACID RAYZ. There were no opening nite glitches and the sound system was fantastic. As a matter of fact JIMMY DESTRI (BLONDIE) told me that BITTERWEED was the best he had ever heard. Too bad it was the last time, their drummer's moving to California. Guitarist/singer Linda is gonna be working on some new projects of her own and the other guitarist DAVE also said he had some new things he was working on.

Sunday nite's show at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD was awesome as usual. THE AMERICAN GRAVEYARD DANCE opened up the nite with some solid rock and SWAMP MUD played an amazing set with their new bass player and no drummer. MARK BERLEY BAND was solid and FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS finished off their month-long residency with a fantastic set. SAMMI is a phenomenal drummer, you should catch her when you can. THE LOVE PIRATES were their usual outrageous selves with GASS and ANDROID busting up as usual. JOHN LAW followed up with some new songs from THE X's and some old BANANA FISH ZERO favorites. Of course BLONDE & BLUE were solid as they always are, even with SUSAN fighting an ear infection. Then it was time for "THE SOFA KING" WILDE JAM. Led this week by PHIL McGAUGH (F.P.TOZ), he was joined by FUZZ (LOVE PIRATES) and then JOHN LAW jumped up and joined them. Even PAM the METAL QUEEN joined in on some choruses. It was another fun nite.

This Friday at THE WRECK ROOM we will have THE BAGHDADDIOS, INFRADIG, THE CREAMSICLES, DIRTY DICK and the HESHERS. This club has 3 rooms, 2 pool tables, cheap drinks and NO COVER! Come down and join the fun.

On Sunday at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD it will be time to celebrate NELL's birthday. This promises to be an outrageous nite with JYNX from BOMBSHELL opening up with some new material. JEN URBAN & THE BOX and CENTER OF ZERO will lead up to THE MEMPHIS MORTICIANS, the return from touring SASQUATCH & THE SICK-A-BILLYS and SETH KESS & THE BLACK MARKET BAND. After that ... who knows what'll happen. Come down and find out.

Hope to see ya soon.

Take care,

WOOD
