Hi All,

It's been a wild week. I started working again, a couple of shows and dealing with some other problems.

As alot of you know, I used to take video of alot of shows. Well, I may lose all those videos if I don't come up with some $$ to bail them out of storage. if anyone wants some GREAT footage, let me know and we'll work something out b/w the bands and yourselves. I have old BANANA FISH ZERO, the very 1st SEX SLAVES show, QUEEN V and many more.

Last Friday nite at THE WRECK ROOM, THE HILLS opened up the show. Thier lead singer sounds like early Bob Dylan and it was their 1st show eith their new drummer and bass player. It was pretty good. DEEP INTENT followed with their mellow grooves and DOWNSHALLOW had the place dancing all over. COLD FLAVOR REPAIR filled out the rest of the night with their L.A. style jams.

On Sunday at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD it was a packed house all night lomg. Starting with DIANE BRAMER & KENYA MITCHELL doing an acoustic set. They fought thru their technical difficulties to play their 1st show out. DOGSHOW was next and they rocked the house even though they didn't have a bass player. M. DAVID HORNBUCKLE was next with his quirky songs followed by the solid rocking of HOME TO HENRY. BONGO JONES was their usual solid selves and had people up and moving. PROGRESSIVE DEMENTIA was next, doin an70's themed show. At one point they did a medley of KANSAS/STARSHIP/BEE GEES/TED NUGENT. These guys never fail to surprise and amuse the crowd. RIVERCAT then did their 1st show in over a year and it was a combination CD release/Birthday party. These guys did a solid set of rockin blues with some amazing solos by lead guitarist LEE.

The NYC BLUES DEVILS did another unplugged set with just DANNY & THE DOCTOR. During these sets the DOCTOR plays an acoustic guitar instead of the keyboards and it's still an astounding show. Next up were THE HUDSON DUSTERS. Led by WILD BILL THOMPSON(THE SENDERS). These older gentlemen of rock'n'roll showed all the young kids what professionalism is all about. These guys just plain out KICKED-ASS! ROB CHANEY had the unenviable task of following their raucous set and held his own. ACID RAYZ then turned in another solid performance before KENN ROWELL(THE BAGHDADDIOS) closed out the nite with a new somg he wrote during a 90mph drive to NYC from Toronto following the BAGHDADDIO show at North By Northeast. Kenn is an true entertainer in all aspects of the word. Mixing some of his own songs along with funny anecdotes while intermingling with the crowd b/w shots of Vodka and RED BULL. That's the reason he leads THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM every week and while it ,may nopt always be a jam, it;s ALWAYS FUN!

This Thursday in Virginia Beach at THE PEPPERMINT BEACH CLUB I've booked FUTURE 86 and they'll be playing with fellow NYC rockers THEO & THE SKYSCRAPERS (featuring members of THE LUNACHICS & THE TOILET BOYS).

On Friday at THE WRECK ROOM we'll have the garage rock of THE LIVING PROOF BAND followed by the hard/punk rock of JAKHAMR HYPOCRYT. Then THE VELMAS are making the trip down from upstate NY. Their drummer was the one who filled in nobly behind THE PRINCE & THE LAW at PRINCE HAL's bachelor party a few weeks back. Then F.P. TOZ is back to show that the cancer removal was a thorough success. FREEDOM BOMB will top off the night with more rock'n'roll.

Finally on Sunday it will be more insanity at WIND DOWN SUNDAY (where we wind down from a rough weekend & prepare for another week in HELL!) at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD as we lead off with KING SEXY in their 1st NYC appearance. The BEN WARREN & THE FLESHLIGHTS (3/5 of GOD-the band) will do their crazy style of rock. followed by FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS. This band has the BEST young drummer oyt there in the scene today, you should catch them while you still can. THE SPRINKLE GENIES will foloow them with their anarchistic anti-folk rock style. Then we will have the premier performance of CONJOIN US! (2/5 of GOD-the band) doing a 30 minute performance/music piece. Who knows with all those former parts of GOD-the band we may even have a GOD-the band resurrection. Anything can happen on a Sunday night at OTTO's. Speaking of anything happening, our band-in-residence for the month of June, PROGRESSIVE DEMENTIA will be next and their theme this week will be rock's CHEESIEST songs. You never know with this crew what that means.

At 11pm we will have NYC UNPLUGGED (the core of NYC's best bands) as 5 guys from 5 different bands get together because they have 1 thing in common - they'rre all Greek. That means it will be time for MAGGES and their traditional Greek music fueled by OUZO shots and hopefully JAMEELA the belly dancer(she's flying in from out-of-town and I really hope she makes it in time. THE NY NO STARS will then do another 1/2 and 1/2 nite. Half electric show/half acoustic. And as usual KENN ROWELL will lead THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM to end the evening.

So remember if you're interested in trying to save those GREAT rock'n'roll videos let me know and we'll get it done.

Take care,

WOOD
