Hi ALL,

4th of JULY has come and gone and summer is in full swing. It's racing by already. So many things to do, so let's get to it.

Last Friday was the last show (for now) at THE WRECK ROOM. DEAD LIZARD led off the nite and placed the bar high. F.P. TOZ was a last minute replacement but were ready and rockin' all the same. BONGO JONES rocked my first show there and were equally well rocking the last one. DIRTY DICK did an acoustic set that blew the roof off the place. HECTOR was as punk as ever. To cap it all off BLAZE DEBRIS was just totally awesome.

Sunday at OTTO's was another long nite of rock'n'roll. Being the middle of a long holiday weekend we expected a slow nite. WRONG! 3 of the city's biggest promoters ended up at OTTO's at one point or another that nite. Everyone knows, OTTO's is THE PLACE on Sundaay nites!

HOUNDS FROM HELL led off with a hard rocking set followed by the Japanese pop rock of LOVE,ETC> The L.A. style groove of COLD FLAVOR REPAIR kept the floor hopping and then DUSKY JEWEL took the stage. Featuring DIDI DELICIOUS on vocals and TY on guitar they rocked the place as only the veterans can. GIRL TO GORILLA started of their residency with a up tempo rock set that led into KID EGO. These boys are used to playing in front of thousands back in the U.K. but they said OTTO's was the most fun they've ever had at a show and it was their new favorite place to play. They kicked ass! ACID RAYZ was stellar as usual and ROB HANEY also had a good set. KENN ROWELL of the BAGHDADDIOS with SUSAN MITCHELL of ACID RAYZ capped off a fantastic nite.

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I LOVE pyrotechnics and what the day stands for. Now It's not gonna be as much fun as before because a dear friend passed away and now ...

R I P ALDO, GODSPEED! I'll see ya there buddy! I will continue til we meet again!

Now for the big show of the summer.

THE X's CD pre-Release party is on Friday at CONTINENTAL. Come see JOHN LAW, BRETT, CUPCAKE and MIKE rock out before they take it out on the road. These guys are gonna be too big when they get back. Look out SEX SLAVES! Also on the bill from Virginia BURNING DA BUSH with a boogie rock style. The CD release party of HOME TO HENRY's new rock cd. THE DIVIDE will also be rocking the house along with a new band from Pa. FREEDUMB BOMB. These kids are gonna surprise ya. We also have BORN/RAISED and OUR AFTER to fill out the gig. DON't MISS IT!

On Sunday we'll be back at OTTO's with DEEP INTENT, SUBURBAN LOCKDOWN (from Fla.), more BURNING DA BUSH and a special early show of THE NYC BLUES DEVILS. Then GIRL TOGORILLA will continue their residency to be followed by PARANOID LARRY & HIS IMAGINARY BAND (don't ask, just come check it out).

Then from ILLINOIS we have BOOTS & BRACELETS followed by BLONDE & BLUE, ROB HANEY & THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM.

Hope to see ya there,

WOOD
