Hi All,

It's been a taxing weekend-plus of rock'n'roll.

On Friday for my first show at Cha-Cha's on the Boardwalk in CONEY ISLAND it was attacked with monsoon-style rain. But it didn't matter. THE SHOW WENT ON! And on it did, led by the girls(and guy) from North Carolina - VIVA LA VENUS. They did a hard rockin' set followed by the old guys - HUDSON DUSTERS, who turned in a solid set of rock'n'roll. Then it was time for SEA MONSTER who did their usual kick ass set. They were joined for "FOLSUM PRISON BLUES" by WILD BILL THOMPSON from the HUDSON DUSTERS and for the final jam, DANNY RAY(MAD JUANA) joined in. Despite some technical glitches the show and the crowd turned out fine.

On Sunday at OTTO's we started off with the hard rock of THE SYSTUM and followed with some clasic style rock from THE BLUE DOGS as they celebrated their drummer's(MIKEY RAT) birthday. We had cupcakes and everything. Then WILLIE BREEDING followed with an unplugged set and CHRISTINE SMITH(ALOWICIOUS) di her own thing after that. THE BAGHDADDIOS came in as a last minute replacement and were in fineform. Then it was time for GIRL TO GORILLA as they continued their residency getting tighter every week. Hard to believe because they started out real tight. Then the girls(and guy) from VIVA LA VENUS finished off their mini tour of the northeast with a killer set and were joined by WILD BILL THOMPSON for a little blues number. The Greeks then took the stage and I have to say that without JAMEELA bellydancing MAGGES can't hold my attention, but I'm just a dirty old man anyway. BLONDE & BLUE were next and WILD BILL was still hanging out so he joined them for a few blues numbers. It was amazing watching him and SUSAN trade riffs while ALYSON was belting out the songs. LENNY KAYE was hanging out with us and we all had a GREAT time!

On Monday at THE CANAL ROOM was a reunion of sorts as THE SEX SLAVES played with THE X's in a fancy club that was cheap with the air-conditioning. But both bands were in fine form. It was good seeing them play together.

Tuesday was the CD release party for the NY DOLLS and they performed a raucous set at TOWER RECORDS. They did about 6 new songs off the CD and then 2 old favorites - LOOKING FOR A KISS and PERSONALITY CRISIS. It was a fun set with SYLVAIN still having a hard time tuning his guitar and DAVID cracking on him. Just like the old days with alot of the old crowd hanging in the audience. Then it was off to the afterparty with an open bar and it was a loooong evenig. On Wednesday I caught up on some well deserved sleep.

Now we're ready for a PUNK ROCK show this Friday at CHA-CHA's on the Boardwalk in CONEY ISLAND with SHILOH(from North Carolina), YO! SCUNT, JESSE JAYMZE's ACOUSTIC ONSLAUGHT, LAST CALL BRAWN and CAUGHT IN A TRAP.

On Sunday at OTTO's we'll have SHOW & TELL (from Philly), FLACK BLAMINGO (LISA LUDWIG with WOLF & BILLY FICCA), UZUHI-unplugged, GIRL TO GORILLA(finishing off their month long residency) SHILOH, SNATCH CASKET, ACID RAYZ and who knows who else will show up?!?

Pick up the new NY DOLLS CD and you'll get a funny comic book pull out and a making-of DVD> It's worth it!

Hope to see ya soon.

Take care,

WOOD
