Hi All,

Well, summer is almost gone but we will party til the end and then some. There are some new pictures on the website from our JULY 7 show at CONTINENTAL, check 'em out!

This past weekend was the NY DOLLS show at the SOUTH STREET SEAPORT on Friday. It was an awesome show and everyone was in fine form. Even Sylvain! They did alot of the new stuuf and a bunch of the old. The crowd was mostly of an older variety and it was nice to see them passing down to their kids(which they brought with them) a little bit of history.

After the show it was into the rented car and off to BEAVERKILL for the annual JOHNNYLAWPALOOZA! It was LUNDO, myself and our good friend MORRIS (you know him, the guy with the pipe who looks like George Washington on the $1 bill). It was an interesting 3 hour ride considering LUNDO didn't have his contacts in! We got there around 2am, set up our tents and proceeded to start the weekend with a few drinks with the crowd that was already there, one of which was English expatriot - GASS WILDE! It was interesting, hanging out, drinking and swapping tales as GASS felt the spirits in the woods trying to drag him in. We eventually passed out and awoke to a dreary Saturday. We were not to be dismayed, as JOHN LAW said, "The hell with it, let's move the couches and roll up the rugs. We'll rock inside the house tonite!"

And that we did. Starting off with Jay from REBEL PAWN ALLIANCE doing a nice acoustic set and leading into F.P. TOZ. The TOZ boys (REGGIE MAGOO, PHIL McGAUGH and FUZZY DANNY WUZZY) donated their drums for the evening, which was well appreciated. Theirs was a kick-ass set and everyone was remarking how much better they seem as a trio. They were joined on their last song by JAY and LANI FORD. I told them they could pull it off all along. Next up was BRUB, which was GIG LIZZY and DON. They did a mellow acoustic set and then we let one of the kids, DYLAN WOODS do a song while JOHN LAW backed him up and then little ZELDA ADAMS (one of THE HOT ROSES) wanted to do one and being as it was her house, why not. This was after she got everyone laughing when she told me to "FRANK, STOP TALKING, NOW!" ((First LULU doesn't want to play OTTO's anymore, "I wanna play bigger clubs." And now this, the ADAMS girls are completely out of control!)

That was followed by STARK. Another band that had contracted the cancer and had it successfully removed and replaced by JOSETTE, who kicked ass in her virgin performance with the band live. She gives LANI's band a much harder edge than before and with GASS WILDE on the drums and LANI's new songs, this band is now ready for the next level. Then we had THE SPRINKLE GENIES with RICHIE on drums, STEVE on bass, ANDY on guitar/vocals, ERIKA on vocals/guitar/mandolin and ANONDA (JOHNNY LAW's Sister-in-law) on percussion/vocals and violin. They were their usual funny and sarcastic selves with some really good musicianship thrown in on top of it all. Then it was time for our host, JOHN LAW, to take the stage with the newly married PRINCE HAL. The PRINCE started off with a solo number and then we got going. By the way the PRINCE has cleaned up his act, but he has a dog who now does all the stuff he used to do (i.e. piss all over the place, drink alot and to top it off - he took a dump in the middle of the stage right before we all got started.) Hal is alive and living inside his little dog! Joined at first by DON (who claimed to know all the BFZ catalogue) and then rapidly replaced with REGGIE MAGGO (who DID know the BFZ catalogue), they turned in a raucus set and made everyone drool in anticipation of THE REUNION show at CONTINENTAL on 9/15 with original drummer - TEXAS! They were then followed by the othe member of THE HOT ROSES - LULU ADAMS with JOHN LAW on guitar, REGGIE MAGOO on drums and the PRINCE on backing vocals. In all it was a successful nite without all of the hardcore debauchery of shows past.

On Sunday morning it was up early and back to the city for the WIND DOWN SUNDAY show at OTTO's. Starting with the R&B stylings of DEEP INTENT, followed by the rockabilly of CATSPAW. Which led to HOME TO HENRY's garage rock and into the sounds of FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS, who did an amazing version of PSYCHO KILLER! Then it was time for the LOVE PIRATES. GAS made it back from the woods in one piece and they performed their usual rockin' blues set with enough energy to make the young kids pant. BROTHER EARTH was next with their funky style of rock and were followed by BLONDE & BLUE. This may be their last show until ALISON returns from her honeymoon. (That's right guys, another good one got taken off the market by a VERY lucky guy. CONGRATULATIONS! We'll see you when you get back! Then ROSS BYRON and AMANDA WHITE gave their virgin performance of their band in the making, AMANDA & ROSS. They are looking for a bass player but with songs like they have it shouldn't take to long. Then we had Missouri native ISRAEL GRIPKA do his blues folk rock songs. he is also looking to put together a band and when he does it should be liller.

Then it was time for THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM led by KENN ROWELL (THE BAGHDADDIOS) on vocals/harmonica with a little help from ALISON on Vocals and ROB (DEEK JENKINS) on harmonica, WILD BILL THOMPSON (HUDSON DUSTERS?SENDERS) on guitar, DANNY RAY(MAD JUANA) on Sax and SUSAN MITCHEL (BLONDE & BLUE) on VIOLIN. It was AWESOME. I can't wait to see what next week brings.

Speaking of next week, on Sunday at OTTO's we haveTHE SEDITION ACT, JYNNX (BOMBSHELL) and friends, THE BAGHDADDIOS, FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS, THE SPRINKLE GENIES, SO DAMN THIRSTY, ACID RAYZ, CHET BEEFALO (THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE) and KATSUNORI. It'll be fun, so come join us.

Hope to see you soon.

Take care,

WOOD
