Hi All,

There are some new pictures up in the photo section of JOHNNYLAWPALOOZA taken by ALAN RAND and BRIAN MECHUTAN. They are pretty good.

Last Sunday there was an all-ages show at CONTINENTAL. I just missed seeing SUPERVILLAIN but I heard, by eavesdropping, that it was an AWESOME set! TEST SPECIMEN had a raucous crowd up and slamming away and the SEX SLAVES were their usual boisterous selves.

I had to leave early because I had a show at OTTO's that started with THE SEDITION ACT, a good rock band made up of members of the former GEORGE JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. They were followed by JYNX LYNX with an assist from CHRIS LAUBIS of THE SCARED STIFFS doing some new stuff and some old. Then the BAGHDADDIOS did a super high energy set (1 can too many of RED BULL) of pop/punk. Then UZUHI did an incredible set of acoustic Japanese punk and broke strings 3 different times but kept going. FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS finished up their residency with another astounding set of rock'n'roll. THE SPRINKLE GENIES followed with their eclectic style of rock. SO DAMN THIRSTY came up from MARYLAND and added some hardcore punk to the evening, followed by the wild sounds of ACID RAYZ. CHET BEEFALO then took the stage and as his set continued he was joined by PHIL McGAUGH (F.P. TOZ) on bass, SUSAN MITCHELL (BLONDE & BLUE) on violin, and WILD BILL THOMPSON (HUDSON DUSTERS) on guitar. KATSUNORI followed with some bluesy improv and was joined by WILD BILL and PHIL for a "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM. We didn't finish till 3:30am and ERIC 13 of the SEX SLAVES didn't get a chance to join (but then again he was a little preoccupied at the bar doing what SEX SLAVES do!)

This weekend is LABOR DAY WEEKEND and on Friday nite at BOOGALOO we start it off with PETRO, COUNTERFEIT MOLLY from Va., THE DOSE and YUKINAO (SAKURA MADAMS w/o drums). DJ ROB NITRO will wind out the nite. BOOGALOO is located in Williamsburg right over the WILLIAMSBURG BRIDGE and right at the MARCY AVE. stop of the J, M, and Z lines.

On Sunday we have at OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD TEST SPECIMEN, THE PARTY DEATH, BATZ, HELLFIRE BOYS CLUB, THE LOVE PIRATES, COUNTERFEIT MOLLY, JOE BENDIK (it's his birthday, so come out and help him celebrate), JAMES DOWER and a special "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM with WILD BILL THOMPSON, SUSAN MITCHELL, KENN ROWELL (BAGHDADDIOS) and who knows who'll be around to join in the fun.

On Monday I'll be headed out to Brooklyn for the WEST INDIAN DAY parade. If you've never been to this, then you should go. It is huge trucks filled with speakers wailing reggae, soca and all kinds of wild carribbean music & all the while the foods of the WEST INDIES will take over your nostrils and make you eat delicious food and refreshing drinks. That's not mentioning the EXTREMELY OUTLANDISH costumes that are hand made and worn by the parade revelers. It's Carneval in Brooklyn! Go there, you won't be disappointed.

Hope to see ya soon. Have a GREAT WEEKEND!

Take care,

WOOD
