Hi All,

On October 4, 1974 I was attending college in NYC. I had a small studio apartment that cost only $96/month and I had booked a few bands in High School and College. I decided that it would be a great way to help my friends' bands and have some fun (and yea, meet some girls)if I could use my contacts and book them some shows. Well one thing led to another and that brings us to today. 32 years later and I'm still booking my friends bands and helping get good music out there and having alot of fun in the process.

I would like to THANK EVERYONE who has ever played at a show, came to a show, let me put on a show and helped me with the shows over the years.

THANK YOU!

Without you, I wouldn't have been able to continue this long. I hope you've enjoyed these shows as much as I do.

I have been lucky that I have friends who are in the BEST bands around! That's why I continue to do it. Other people have to be able to hear what is out there and radio just isn't doing the job!

On Friday that was evident in my first full show at CLUB MIDWAY. This is the old SCENIC but with a new sound & light system and even better, GABBY from the old LUNA LOUNGE, doing the sound and it made for a TERRIFIC NITE! Despite a gremlin who messed with one of the guitar heads at the begining and then mysteriously made it work again?!?! All the bands brought their "A" game and GABBY spiked it up. Starting with TEST SPECIMEN and then on to YO! SCUNT, THE SAUDI AGENDA, THE BLACKOUT SHOPPERS, LOAFASS, SUZUKI SMITH and ACID RAYZ. There are pictures of the show on my photo page. Go check them out. We also had the lovely JAMEELA working the door and our old friend from DEAD COMBO, HARRY, behind the bar, and DJ ROB NITRO keeping us busy b/w the bands and after they were done. It looked to me like everyone had a GREAT time! I sure did. Check out photos from that night.

Last Sunday at OTTO's, SPAGHETTI EASTERN MUSIC warmed up the crowd and HOME TO HENRY turned it up a notch, ALIEN CANOPY were the solid rockers they always are, and DUSKY JEWEL was a delight. DIDI was as sharp as ever and TY was really shredding the guitar in his own funky way. The MNN cable show BE YOURSELF AS WELL AS ART: THE ANTI-CHAT SHOW was there to film them and the next band. The host (TOM REGAN) interviewed people all over the club. (This show is on every other Friday at Midnite.) Then BATZ started their residency with a solid set even though one of their singers (SUET) was sick and STILL impressed the crowd. They'll be at OTTO's every Sunday in October at 9pm. HOLLOW then did an unplugged set that rocked better than some bands electric set. The BAGHDADDIOS were then filmed for a different TV show on MNN that is on fridays at 10:30pm. (I'm sorry, I forgot the name of the show). Then BLONDE & BLUE returned to the OTTO's stage for the first time since ALYSON's wedding and they were as sharp as ever. Glad to see that marriage hasn't ruined this band. Being as it was a holiday for some people we didn't have a "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM but it'll be back this week.

Speaking of this week, I have two shows coming up. On Friday we're back at BOOGALOO. A former Speakesy with an art-deco vibe. This small room gives off that intimacy that brings fans and bands closer together. This week it'll be F.P. TOZ, LOW FI AGGRESSION, SQUARE WAVE PUNCH and SKEEVOTZ. It's right on the block of the MARCY AVE. exit of the M or J train and onlt 2 blocks from the Williamsburg bridge.

On Sunday it's back to OTTO's for another WIND DOWN SUNDAY and it's also a 3 day weekend so it should be wilder than most. We're having a CD release party for POPTOWN RECORDS recording artist PETER BLAST. Then we'll just keep going with COSMO's SUNSHINE BAND, ANIMAL PHARM and THE FUX (as they prepare to take the FRANK WOOD presents: banner down to Florida and back). Then BATZ will continue their residency and hopefully SUET will be better and the full range of the BATZ experience will be on display. JOE BENDIK will follow and then it'll be FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS, ACID RAYZ and MOUNTJOY. The "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM should be especially good this week.

Hope to see ya soon,

WOOD
