Hi ALL,

It's been a little hectic lately. I've been preparing for the 6 DAYS OF WOOD as well as working the day job and a bunch of other stuff keeps popping up. I LOVE NYC!

The closing of CBGB's has come and gone and now it's time to make something new. My friend ROBERT LUND put it best in his column in last month's NY WASTE. When CB's first opened it was out of the way, inconvenient and a little scary to some. Well with rising rents any space that's big enough is gonna be on the edge. It's time to start something new. So check out some of these new places that are opening on the other side of the river. You might be surprised by the spaciousness, not to mention that alot of them have places where you can drink AND smoke at the same time.

This past week was hectic for me because some old friends from Japan arrived in town - HEADPHONES PRESIDENT. They are one of the premier HEAVY bands in Japan. Their first show in the USA was in NYC 3 years ago with me on my birthday at MEOW MIX (another great venue that is no longer with us!). They were AWESOME then and still are. This year they were screwed around by another promoter who had 2 shows fall thru and then tried to charge them $600 for another show in town. cmj having taken over most of the clubs it was difficult but I managed to save their trip with 3 more shows. All of which they blew people away with their intensity, professionalism and their music. They will return next year for a much bigger tour.

Now for the upcoming 6 DAYS OF WOOD. They are all gonna be kick-ass! Starting on Wed. 11/8 at DON HILL's with STARK, DEEK JENKINS, SPRINKLE GENIES, GIRL TO GORILLA, VONDELLS, BETTIE AFTER MIDNIGHT and HOME TO HENRY with LUNDO DJing. Then on Thurs. 11/9 it's over to the LUCKY CAT in Brooklyn for FOLK FICTION, THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE, PROGRESIIVE DEMENTIA, CHRISTINE SMITH, FLACK BLAMINGO, CARLA RHODES with Mick & Keef, DUNCAN and DJ ROB NITRO. On Fri. 11/10 it's back to Manhattan at Midway for GRANDE (PAM the METAL QUEEN's new band) along with THE NIHILISTICS, METAL JOHN, THE VELMAS (CD release party) THE HUDSON DUSTERS with WILD BILL THOMPSON, BLUE STRAW DOGS, DUSKY JEWEL, The BAGHDADDIOS and ROB NITRO DJing.

On Saturday, 11/11 it's my birthday and we'll be back in Brooklyn where I was born. TRASH BAR will be the place and I'll have some assistance in hosting from ERIC 13 and DEL CHEETAH (SEX SLAVES). THE BULLYS, HONOR AMONG THIEVES, VIVA LA VENUS, BURNING WAGON, PSYCHO 77, BLAZE DEBRIS, BLACK CAT ELLIOT and a surprise guest band.

On Sun. 11/12 we'll be at my home base OTTO's SHRUNKEN HEAD with THE CATHOLIC GIRLS, CHRIS PURDY, JYNX & DINO, FRANKIE & HIS FINGERS, F.P. TOZ, NYC BLUES DEVILS, SHEWOLVES, T.J. JORDAN with JAMELLA bellydancing, JOHN LAW (BFZ), QUEEN V, ACID RAYZ and a VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE GUEST. On Mon. 11/13 we'll finish it off at THE DELANCEY BAR with BATZ, SAKURA MADAMS, HECTOR, NOVACLUTCH, HECTOR and ROB NITRO DJing again.

It's gonna be a rough week because I'll be working in construction during the day, so it may be awhile til I send out some more news. But it should be alot of fun!
