Hi ALL,

The 6 DAYS OF WOOD were a HUGE success! I would like to THANK all the people who helped me celebrate my 51st birthday in such a wild and fun fashion. From the people who attended to the bands that played to the clubs they played at. It was an insane 6 days.

On Weds. at DON HILL's, the MIGHTY AFRODITE was working the door but still took some time for a quick revue and a two tits up approval of STARK! THE SPRINKLE GENIES, DEEK JENKINS, BETTIE AFTER MIDNIGHT, GIRL TO GORILLA, VONDELLS and HOME TO HENRY along with DJ LUNDO were all part of a killer opening nite. You can see the pictures on the calendar page of my website they're already up.

Thurs. at LUCKY CAT was an offbeat nite of different styles and perceptions of rock from DUNCAN's folksy rock to FLACK BLAMINGO to the quirky PROGRESSIVE DEMENTIA and the crowd enlisting of FOLK FICTION (with PEE WEE Playing thru the gremlins) leading to CARLA RHODES with KEEF and ending with CHRISTIN SMITH and friends! (Some of those pictures are up also.)

CLUB MIDWAY was Fri.'s location and GRANDE, PAM the METAL QUEEN's new band was intense as expected and THE NIHILISTICS were over the top and even brought their hearse along! DUSKY JEWEL, THE BLUE SHADOW DOGS, METAL JOHN, the HUDSON DUSTERS, THE VELMAS and the BAGHDADDIOS were all part of a another kickass nite. With JAMEELA and ROSELLA working the door exquisite visuals were also in attendance! DJ ROB NITRO kept everyone busy between and after the bands.

TRASH was where GEORGIE SEVILLE's new band, THE DOWNTOWNS, were a late addition and they played some really good rock'n'roll as did THE BULLYS(who were completely over the top), HONOR AMONG THIEVES and all the other bands (VIVA LA VENUS, BLAZE DEBRIS, PSYCHOO 77 and BLACK CAT ELLIOT and DJ ROB NITRO again). The Jose Cuervo gift from the BLACK CAT ELLIOT boys was shared and enjoyed by many including ERIC 13 and DJ MOJO amongst others! It was a GREAT birthday!

Sunday's show was visited by a band from ENGLAND that had just won a big contest and was flown over for a showcase. They were told by 2 different people to check out OTTO's because that's the best place for LIVE music on Sun. in NYC. They went back home BLOWN AWAY by both the quality and the quantity of some of NYC's best acts. SAMMI from FRANKIE and HIS FINGERS sat in with the boys from Texas (CHRIS PERDY and crew) and then was astounding as usual in her own band. The CATHOLIC GIRLS started the night off and it was high energy and fun the rest of the nite! JYNX & DINO packed the room and F.P. TOZ showed that they belong with the rest of the bands. The NYC BLUES DEVILS jazzed their way thru their set and led into the hard rockin' SHEWOLVES. (Tony gave me an incredible cd from 1978 of THE DEAD BOYS and THE NEW YORK DOLLS playing together with special guest JOHN BELUSHI sitting in on drums for a few songs.) Then T.J. JORDAN improvised some crisp, inspired playing as JAMEELA bellydanced. Then the combination of her dancing as he played "LITTLE WING" was show stopping! JOHN LAW followed with some classic BANANA FISH ZERO and QUEEN V mesmerized the room with some new somgs from her upcoming album. ACID RAYZ kept the room packed and led into THE "SOFA KING" WILDE JAM with WILD BILL THOMPSON and SUSAN MITCHEL jamming along as JAY WEST sang and played bass. Famed NYC performance artist DAVID PEEL was in attendance and he said this was as good, if not better than the old days!

We finished up on Mon. at THE DELANCEY with BATZ, SAKURA MADAM, BROTHER EARTH, NOVA CLUTCH, HECTOR and DATURA. DJ NITRO was there also and Good ole MORRIS had the door and everyone agreed the nite was another one for the history books.

There will be pictures up soon from Days 3-6 coming soon, just keep checking.

In all, ALL of the bands were better than anything cmj had to offer n the previous week and proving that NYC rock'n'roll is way ahead of everyone!

Now I will rest until my next show this Sun (11/19) at OTTO's and prepare for the holidays.

THANK YOU to everyone who made it ALL so much fun.

See ya soon,

WOOD
